Dear Parent / Carer

I hope this update finds you and your family well.

As referenced in my update last week I set our below arrangements for the end of term and information relating to the return of students in September.

This week you will have received an invitation to attend the various end of term celebration events that are taking place across both sites.  I do hope you and child will be able to attend, but I fully understand the need to decide for your family based on your individual circumstance.  The celebration events will be non-school uniformed events, however, should your child wish to attend in uniform they may do so.

End of term reports will be sent via e-mail the week commencing 20th July 2020, if you do not have an email address a copy will be sent in the post.  If you wish to discuss any element of the report with your child’s teacher an opportunity for this conversation to take place will be arranged early in Term 1.

Older students and their parents will shortly be notified under separate cover of their option choices for the new academic year, the majority of students will have received their first choice, if this has not been possible a member of the Senior Leadership Team will contact you to discuss the availability of option choices.  Timetables for the new academic year are not currently available, however your child will receive this information upon their return to school in September.

In keeping with the governments scheme to support children who receive free school meals, one voucher covering the entire summer period will be emailed to you from Edenred at the start of the summer holiday.  If you usually receive your voucher in paper format or have specified a preferred supermarket these arrangements will be honoured by Edenred.

Following discussions with the Area Education Officers this week regarding students returning in September, we will adopt a staggered start to the first few days of Term 1. This is to ensure that students have an opportunity to adjust to a return to school following an extended absence period.  For those students who remain at home they will continue with a package of remote learning and this will be shared with you at the start of September.

Full guidance in relation to social distancing expectations will be shared with you ahead of the start of term and they will be in keeping with expectations issued by Local and Central Government at the time.

Students will return in the following order :-

Year Group

Return Date

Yrs 7 & 14

Thursday 3rd September

Yrs 10, 11 & Sixth Form ( including Yrs 7 & 14)

Friday 4th September

All years to attend from Monday 7th September 2020

I wish you all a restful weekend.

Mr Steven Ackerley- Executive Headteacher
