COVID-19 Catch Up Funding

The pandemic has affected us all over the last two years but for children who already live with anxiety and struggle with change, the impact of coronavirus has been particularly challenging.  As a school, we strive to strike a constant balance of care and support alongside academic progress and opportunities to develop and achieve.  At a time when our students would benefit from additional support more than ever, we are making good use of the coronavirus catch-up premium in the following ways:-

• Providing additional 1:1 and small group tuition in literacy, numeracy and key skills, delivered by teachers and specialist teaching assistants
• Increasing the capacity for our Outreach and Remote Learning teams to support students via online learning and/or home visits
• Increasing the capacity for our Pastoral Support team to work more closely with families, including remote contact and home visits
• Providing additional learning resources, including online subscriptions, to provide increased learning opportunities, including for work outside of school time
• Establishing intensive and personalised transition support for students joining the school and for those moving between key stages

Funding Received –

• Establish a programme of after-school activities and additional learning sessions, including extra home-school transport provision to facilitate them
• Gradually re-introduce a programme of trips and visits into the local community for our students, where it is safe to do so, to support their independence and communication skills in the ‘new normal’ way of life
