Dear Parent / Carer

I hope you all enjoyed a restful half term break.

At the start of Term 6 the final term of the academic year, we usually start preparations for various celebration events such as prize giving, end of term trips and for the older students Prom.  We continue to work within the government guidance in relation to social distancing, bearing this in mind it is my intention to ensure students will still have an opportunity to celebrate the end of term and to recognise their achievements, in the next two weeks I will share with you what form these events might take.

As referenced in my letter to you on the 22nd May, to support the continuing online learning provision during the week commencing the 8th June we will enable the camera function on Students Surface Go devices. This will allow Teachers and Teaching Assistants to interact with students and for tutor groups to virtually meet, detailed information regarding virtual lessons / tutor groups will be shared with you all in due course.  Please can you remind your child of the requirements as laid out in our Acceptable Use Policy and of the potential consequences should they misuse their device.

Year 10 & 12 Students

In conjunction with the wider Senior Leadership Team, I am currently drawing up plans to ensure the school is ready for the expansion of student numbers for Term 6.  We will contact all families next week of students in years 10 and 12 to discuss the best way to support their exam base studies for the term ahead.

All Students

We are also considering the needs of all our students and their families for Term 6 and your usual school contact will be in touch next week to discuss the educational and welfare provision for your child for the term ahead.

Yesterday, I met virtually with the Governing Body of Broomhill Bank School and they have asked me to pass their thanks to you all for the support and patience you have extended to the staff at Broomhill Bank over the last few months.

I wish you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.

Mr Steven Ackerley- Executive Headteacher
