Dear Parents / Carers

I hope you and your families are well at this time.

Thank you for your response to our survey request, we have enjoyed reading your replies;  further to your feedback I am pleased to let you know that we will be adapting our home schooling provision from the 8th June.

We will start our new approach to provide more interactive learning sessions, I will send more information next Friday following the Prime Ministers update planned for the 28th May regarding the wider opening of schools for secondary school age students.

There will be no contact calls or emails next week to provide both you and the students a break from their studies. Mrs Milne, Head of Residential Care and Safeguarding is writing to all students and parents today to let them know how they can contact the school during the break if they wish to talk through any concerns.

We will continue to provide Free School Meal Vouchers to all eligible families during the half term break, the vouchers will be sent in the usual way.

Once we officially return on the 1st June, we will be in touch again to discuss with you our ongoing plans to provide remote learning and opportunities for students to return to school.

We will also tell you more about our plans to enable the camera functions on the student laptops/ tablets, this will allow better interaction with staff and I will also share with you how we intend to monitor student to student chat rooms and interactions.

Please see key dates below highlighting events for the next few weeks ahead.

  • Week commencing 25 May 2020 – Half term break
  • Week commencing 1 June 2020  - Individual School to home contact about the term ahead
  • Week commencing  8 June 2020 – Launch of new interactive home-schooling approach

On behalf of the School, Staff and Governing Body I would like to thank you for your support over the past term and wish you all a restful and healthy half term break.

Kind regards

Mr Steven Ackerley - Executive Headteacher
