Dear Parents / Carers
I hope this update finds you and your family well.
Due to the Bank Holiday weekend and ahead of the anticipated announcement from Downing Street on Sunday, please find below an interim update.
The nation is expecting a timeline and guidance from the Prime Minster in relation to proposals for his plans for exiting the lockdown. Until this clear guidance is received students should stay at home, once we understand the parameters of the expected reopening of schools, I will share detailed plans for the ongoing educational provision at Broomhill Bank School with you all.
As previously advised the 3rd tranche of online schoolwork is now available on the school website, if your child has any questions or concerns in relation to the work please address those to the form tutor in the first instance during the weekly update calls.
In recent days we have sent all parents and carers an online survey requesting feedback around the support your child has received during the pandemic and information relating to the re-designation consultation. I would be grateful if you would take the time to complete both as your views will help to shape the future of the school. If you do have any questions in relation to either, please do not hesitate to contact me; I will be available to discuss your concerns at the telephone throughout next week.
It seems apt to share the quote below from Winston Churchill at this time and ahead of the 75th anniversary of VE day on Friday.
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Best wishes for a restful Bank Holiday weekend.
Mr Steven Ackerley - Executive Headteacher
