Dear Parent /Carer
At the end of an unusual school day please accept my thanks for your support and understanding as we all adjust to a very different educational provision.
As referenced in my letters last week, I am pleased to confirm that the electronic school work resources and guidance links have been created and went live on the school Website this morning. The school work resources are accessible from the Broomhill Bank School home page, please see link :(https://www.broomhillbank.org.uk/1039/resource-packs-for-students-working-at-home). To further support students moving forward most now have access to a Laptop/tablet, email address, identified staff contacts and hard copy resources. For those children and young people of key workers who are attending school we have created a timetable of school based activities and we will be reviewing this timetable as the weeks progress.
All students attending either school site on a daily basis have access to a hot meal if they wish, they may of course bring a packed lunch if they prefer. Additionally, we will be contacting parents who’s children have Free School Meals to let them know how they may access a voucher system during the time their child is away from school.
For those parents and carers who have made the choice to keep their child at home please continue to do so for the foreseeable future, we are operating on significantly reduced staffing capacity and the staff rota’s are now drawn up a week in advance. However, if your circumstances change and you need to discuss any aspect of your child’s ongoing educational support provision or pastoral intervention please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
I want to assure you that I work with the most committed and supportive group of people that one could hope to be associated with. We are here for the children of ‘Key Workers’ but also for all the children and young people on our roll. I know that this will be an unsettling time for you all, especially as each day brings us further information about the changes we all need to make to keep our society functioning and everyone as safe as possible. I know all of us we will be making decisions that have implications for our families and colleagues, if you have anything you want to talk through please get in touch. I will make myself available as often as possible, to speak with you on the telephone or respond by email throughout tomorrow and in the future. Whatever the changes are to come, please be confident that we are ready, we are here and we can do this!
When this is all over, and it will be over, we will provide transition support and guidance for all members of our Broomhill Bank Community.
