Introduction 

   

The Broomhill Bank Inclusion Outreach Project (IOP) is based at Broomhill Bank School.

  

IOP works with local mainstream schools to promote and develop communication and interaction skills.

  

The project aims to:

  • Share special school expertise in developing communication and interaction skills.
  • Enhance achievement in the classroom by focussing on receptive and expressive language skills.
  • Support the learning needs of students with significant communication and interaction difficulties/differences.
  • Train teaching assistants to work with identified students within mainstream settings.
  • Facilitate inclusion opportunities for Broomhill Bank School students where and when appropriate, for example, via the annual review systems.
