After School Clubs

Following the Christmas holidays, Social Club will restart on Thursday 12 January and the remaining clubs will restart during the week commencing  Monday 16 January.

Clubs take place after school and all pupils and students are welcomed.  A small charge of £3 is made per club per session to cover staffing and other costs.  As the clubs are self financing those taking part must commit to all sessions in a term. Parents must make arrangements for their child to be collected at the end of the session as their child's taxi will have completed its normal end of school day pick up.

If your child would like to join a club but you have transport difficulties or any other concerns please contact Sue Barton on 01892 510440

Monday - Drama

Tuesday - Woodwork and Wildlife

Wednesday - Sports, Creative

Thursday - Social

Woodwork and Wildlife After-school Club takes place on Tuesdays. We will be looking at designing and building bird boxes, making bird food and bird tables, making Darlek composters, growing plants from seed, looking at native butterflies and their habitat and how we can make a difference, making a Mr and Mrs Scarecrow. These are rough plans as they will be weather/light/availability of stock dependent

PE After-School Club takes place on Wednesdays and includes table tennis, cross country, bike / go-kart riding and popular games. Pupils do not have to do all the activities e.g. cross country; pupils will have some choice, as other activities will take place at the same time.

Creative After-School Club takes place on Wednesday and gives our students an opportunity to be creative in an art based activity. Our sessions are linked to calendar events and last term we used Halloween and Christmas as our themes. The students created cards and gift tags and also made paper. They had fun making Christmas crackers too. But this club is also about the students interacting with each other in a relaxed and social environment.

Social Club takes place on Thursdays.  All those taking part have the opportunity to choose what they would like to do during the term.  Activities include cooking, craft, board games, karaoke, games outside to name just a few.

The Mainstream After School Project is aimed at children from Year 5 through to Year 9 who may be finding it difficult to establish and maintain appropriate relationships.  The club meets on Tuesdays from 4.30 - 6.30 p.m. during term time.  Broomhill Bank School is used for some activities but the group also ventures further afield and has been indoor rock climbing, ice skating, river dipping, bowling and to the cinema to name just a few of our activities.

The group plans its own programme each term which helps the children discuss their ideas and take into account the views and feelings of others.

If you think you may have a child who would benefit from this experience please contact Eileen Harris, Jo Colebrooke or Julie Ford at Broomhill Bank School on 01892 510440.
