6th Form Staff

The Sixth Form staff at Broomhill Bank School comprise of dedicated Sixth Form Tutors and highly trained Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA), all specialising in working with post sixteen learners in vocational and academic education.

With specialisms in work experience  (WEX), careers guidance (CIAG) and Speech and Language interventions (SALT), all members of the team work in collaboration with our learners, their parents and external agencies in order to increase provision and meet the students needs, as identified in the Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The team aim to deliver high quality teaching using a number of strategies, including TEACHH, Communication and Interaction (C and I) strategies and specialist knowledge of High-Functioning Autism, Aspergers Syndrome and Social Communication Needs. Key to this approach is the ongoing support offered to students around their emotional well-being, resilience and self-esteem - all of which is met through promoting key aspects of well-being, including achievement, advocacy, aspiration and accreditation.
